Rural Wireless Remote Receiver

Most of our installations involve installing your rural broadband antenna on your roof. In some cases, due to terrain or obstacles such as trees, a household looking at connecting to our Rural Wireless service may not have line-of-sight to our local tower.
Even an object as simple as a tree can create problems, if a tree stands between your house and the tower the service may work during winter but come summer when the tree grows its leaves, it may become completely unworkable.
When this happens, the first workaround option we look for is what we call a remote receiver. What we do is find a spot within 100m of your house that has better line-of-sight to our tower. Sometimes all we need is an alternative install location to be slightly more elevated (like a small hill behind the house) or maybe it's a corner on your property that clears some trees.
If we're in luck and there is a spot that works, proceeding to get our rural broadband is pretty straight-forward. You'll need to install a post for us 2M about ground and trench in Full Flavour-supplied direct bury cable back to your house. Once you've done this, we'll come back to bang our antenna onto the top of the post (see photo at top of this page) and connect everything up. There are no extra costs (aside from you supplying the post and putting in some time to trench the cable).
If you're not so lucky, you can consider our repeater options instead. We offer a mains-powered repeater option (useful if the repeater is going to be located on a central building, like a milking shed) or a solar repeater option (most commonly installed on a nearby hill that has good line of sight to your house and the neighbours).
