Full Flavour has been supplying 4G Rural Broadband to Bay of Plenty and Waikato rural communities for over 5 years now, with 4G being a great alternative when a customer is outside the range (due to distance or local obstructions such as trees) of our Unlimited Data Rural Wireless network. There are hundreds of 4G sites across our regions that our customers can roam onto.
We're keenly aware that number 1 on everyone's shopping list is an unlimited data option.
Increasing data caps has been a long journey as we're reliant on technology - unlike fibre or copper, wireless is a finite resource and there is only so many GB per hour that a 4G tower can process. Over time, more and more "layers" of 4G frequencies have been added to the local towers expanding capacity.
This journey got accelerated through COVID-19, where we saw the introduction of unlimited off-peak hours of Midnight-9am. This was a success with the trial proving that offering customers a defined "free for all" window when the network isn't too busy could work and after lockdown #1 ended, unlimited off-peak hours became a permanent plan option with the extension of unlimited until lunchtime each day.
We're pleased to announce today that plans have once again been improved and unlimited off-peak hours are now Midnight-5pm. You can check out the new plans here. Existing customers with unlimited plan add-ons will be upgraded on June 14th, when the next billing cycle kicks in.
With more towers being built every month and more capacity coming online, this won't be the last announcement about unlimited data on the 4G Rural Broadband network so stay tuned.
